Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your Verdalia account — in the app, or by writing to us if you can’t sign in — what’s deleted, what’s kept and why, and how long it takes. For everything else about your data, see our Privacy Policy.

How to delete your account

In the mobile app, go to Settings → Delete account. On the web, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Either way, you’ll need to confirm your account’s email address, and your password too if the account has one, before the deletion goes through.

If you can’t sign in

Email support@verdalia.app from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We’ll action the request within 30 days — the same promise we make for every privacy request.

What’s deleted

Your account and everything in it: plants, photos, care history and notes, observations, locations, groups, any custom species profiles and species overrides you created, your wishlist, badges, reminders and alerts, connected apps and sign-in links, registered devices and hubs, shared-care connections and invitations, notification and push registrations, and referral links. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there’s no grace period, and it can’t be undone.

What we keep, and why

Billing and invoice records that accounting and tax law require the seller to retain — where these exist, we keep a minimal, anonymized account record alongside them. The security audit log is also kept: the deletion itself is recorded with counts only, and earlier entries about your account’s activity remain, but they reference your account only by an internal identifier, with your email address removed from them. If your email address had previously bounced, or you reported our mail as spam, we keep a one-way marker (a hash) of it so we never try to mail it again. And care and observations you logged on someone else’s shared plants stay on their plants, with your identity removed.

How long it takes

Your account and its content are gone immediately. Stored photo files stop being reachable from the app immediately too, and we confirm their deletion from storage shortly after, retrying automatically if needed. Any residual cleanup completes within about a day.
